With no doubt most beautiful and royal musical instrument is acoustic guitar. Every musician must have this instrument in collection. Why is that? Because you can play on it everywhere. No any amp and other accessories nedded which can't be alike with the electric guitar.
Acoustic one allows playing and singing with friends around you even if you're outside on shiny day or at the see or in nature. But to be honest, every musican must know how to play acoustic guitar and only then electric guitar because some will ask you to sing or play something simple which always sounds better on clean acoustic sound. So, it's good to know a little more about this wonderful musical instrument.
Acoustic guitar is made out of wood and has empty room inside its body. The empty camera in body makes sound when you strum strings. That's the main element of the instrument. It is much wider then electric guitars body and much uncomfortable. For beginners this difference in width can be unusual but that's ok. In some time you'll get used to it. Just keep practicing!
The major reason I like that acoustic guitar doesn't need any amplifier. You can take it, place on your leg and just play. While playing and singing you feel free. Free of the World and all that rush outside. It takes to another guitar guide dimension.
As any string musical instrument, guitar is made of natural wood. It can be single wood or it can be made from multiple wood parts, it doesn't matter the sound is quite likewise. Some cheaper or low-class guitars sound a little bit worst then expensive ones. Really well constructed instrument with divine sound, built in expensive electronics and built from 50 year old wood parts starts form about 1000$ to 1500$. That price is studio like and that guitar sounds divine. Lower-class guitars sound different.
Some time ago I didn't really understood what kind of difference is between two instruments - acoustic and classical guitars and other guitar-like instruments. Well, there's not much. I'll explain it in simple steps.
First you need to know that there are two main categories for guitars acoustic and classical. Secondly, all other instruments who look similar ( that is Picasso, Harp, Banjo, Guitar lute and Russian guitar) are just string novelty instruments. Here's how I understand the difference about guitars Acoustic guitarThese all are steel string instruments. It can be twelve-string, Battente, Archtop, Lyre or any another as long it has steel strings. 12 String is good for chord playing with pick or by hand. Acoustic guitar makes metallic bright sound which is very extensive and divine. It's perfect for singing and accompaniment. Personally, I like steel stringed sound better than nylon one. My playing style applies to this instrument because I play chords and melody with pick mostly.
Classical guitarThis is musical Instrument with nylon strings. It can be lighter then acoustic one and sound gently and not so severe. It's good for fingerstyle playing and chord + melody playing. The most popular and known is Flamenco guitar. If you like chord + melody playing at the same time then classical guitar could be perfect instrument for you. I really don't like the strumming sound with hand or pick on classical one. It's like drubbing strings, and it sounds not large enough. This guitar is related more to gentle fingerstyle playing.
And that's it! Others are just novelty string instruments.
Hope you liked the post and found it useful. More about the acoutic guitar tips check this resource. Keep practicing and developing your guitar guide.
