In orchestral music, several bass players put together and created the sounds of the bass accompaniment. Upon the evolution of jazz music, someone thought of having only one bass guitar player to be able to appreciate the sounds it creates more. Nowadays, when there is a concert or any musical affair, an electric bass guitar is always played. You can find it being played in live bands performing classic music, jazz, heavy metal, pop... simply all different genre. With respect to the setting, a semi-automatic bass and an electric bass guitar can be played with an amplifier. A semi-acoustic bass guitar is hollow in the middle, which achieves resonance for sound without an amplifier, but it has electrical parts in the neck so that it can also be played with an amplifier, making it a versatile choice for a bass guitar. How a musician choose his or her bass guitar is basically based on the kind of sound he/she wants to achieve and more like a personal preference s. The parts of a bass guitar including the neck, the body, and the pickups are unique to each manufacturer's design.
